At University of the Arts London, we currently have over 60 students from Norway studying with us as part of our internationally diverse student community. Watch Henrik’s video above to hear about his experience of being a Norwegian student at UAL.

You can choose from a wide range of art, design, fashion, media, communication and performing arts courses at foundationundergraduate, and postgraduate levels.

If you're currently studying for a bachelor's degree, you may wish to consider participating in one of our three Study Abroad programmes. Study Abroad is an excellent opportunity for Norwegian students to experience University level education in art and design-related subjects in the UK as well as potentially earning transfer credits back in their home institutions.

Entry requirements for Norwegian students

Individual courses may have differing sets of entry requirements. Find the specific entry requirements for your course by searching our course listings.

If English isn’t your first language, visit our English language entry requirements information page for details on required IELTS scores.

Some courses require a portfolio for consideration at application stage. Take a look at our portfolio advice videos before applying.

Foundation and Preparation Programmes

Entry onto a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design or the International Preparation for Fashion courses usually requires Norwegian students to have a High School Diploma plus and a portfolio of work. Entry onto these programmes may also depend on the outcome of an interview at application stage.

Application to an undergraduate degree course (you may know this as a bachelor's degree) usually requires Norwegian students to have a High School Diploma, and where needed, a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, and a portfolio of work. Entry onto some courses may also depend on the outcome of an interview at application stage.

Application to a postgraduate degree course usually requires an undergraduate degree in a subject related to your proposed area of study, two references, a personal statement and, where needed, a study proposal. Many of our courses also ask for a portfolio and some require work experience. Entry onto some courses may also depend on an interview at application stage.

Fees and funding

Standard international tuition fees apply for most of our courses but there are some that may vary. Visit our tuition fees page for more details on standard and non-standard fees. Here you will also find a currency converter so you can see the fees in Norwegian Krone.

Check your chosen course page to see if a non-standard fee applies to your course. Find the course page by searching our course listings.

Visit the International Students & Money page for more information on living expenses. Please note that Norwegian students are not required to have a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK.
